It looks like a bombsite; like London in the Blitz. I wonder whether they are having to do any underpinning beneath the VPT; so much around it is being disturbed through demolition and construction?

I was thinking the same thing, the bombsite that is.

Wow! Are the buildings to the left of the VPT new construction or awaiting further demolition? I mean the ones covered with plastic...

Thanks for the video Pat!

Everything left of Allington Street is coming down. The frontages are still there but much of the innards are already down. I heard that nothing will re-appear at ground level for at least two years!!!

As for the DoY, I'm not sure but I think the frontage may be listed.

Pat, is this some grand scheme being pushed by Boris? Or a leftover from the days of Ken???

The whole area is being destroyed and replaced with something alien to London, in my view. I leave the steps of Westminster Cathedral; and see a sight that looks as out of place; like the spacecraft in 'Independence Day'. Soon the VPT will look like an architectural anachronism amongst the sea of glass, concrete and aluminium. Who is behind it?

Thanks for that Brian. Somewhere, someone had a link to camera that ooked along the front of the VPT - some transport monitoring camera - can't for the life of me remember where to find it so I can see what is going on
Cheers
