You are really excited for the new cd, but you don't live near palace theatre. Your cd hasn't come in mail. You don't have a ipod(any of those apple things), or you just can't wait for another second of hearing the songs Your Never FUlly dress without a smile or Hard Knock Life. Well now you can for free. Where you can listen to the whole track without waiting much longer. Here a link where you can listen to all the songs without paying for it. http://popwatch.ew.com/2013/05/21/annie ... exclusive/
Sorry had to do it. LOL :P Found it through facebook, from Annie Official Page.

Excellent find and thanks for posting that. Went to the added Sunday evening show last week and came away with the mission to get the recording ASAP. Lilla has a great set of pipes! Hits every note with strength, confidence and polish, with vibrato.

We on this forum know about Lilla's excellent acting ability and she sure gets to Shine. I can only surmise that this being a revival together with perhaps the role is not all that complex (compared to Billy, for example) as reasons why Lilla didn't get a Tony nomination. But it sure seems she is deserving of some recognition, and more so than the Matildas, imho.

It was nice to see Joel Hatch and Georgi James excel in their roles.

Perhaps it was me, but I wasn't overly fond of Jane Lynch's Miss Hannigan. It's over-the-top, that's for sure. But for some reason, it just felt to me like it was not serving the role as much as it was serving the individual. I have neither Kate Finneran or Carol Burnett for reference, but my sister, who has seen the movie, was more accommodating of the Hannigan portrayal.

As a side note, what with my sister being an English Literature major, we saw the 3 PM Macbeth immediately before a 6:30 PM Annie. So in her eyes, this represented "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" (Macbeth soliloquy) back-to-back with "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you, tomorrow".

I caught most of 'It's a Hard Knock Life' on PBS last night. It had slight overtones of 'Finding Billy' to it. No doubt it will be shown again on PBS. In the meantime, here is a taster:

It can be watched online here:

'Annie' closing on Broadway

Post by kport »

Sad news - 'Annie' will close on January 5th. Bad news for the wonderful Faith Prince.

At 1743 seats, the Palace is a perfect match for its namesake in London. I wonder what will follow?
