The media can't do much unless the tour's marketing company provides them with materials and opportunities, which I suspect hasn't happened here.

It is only part of one week. I suspect things will be much better in Canada. The Canadians have a special bond with Britain. They are, after all, a part of the Commonwealth of Nations.

(This week would be a golden opportunity to rotate in a number of new cast, but as far as I have heard, there is no call for that. Perhaps it is a good opportunity to allow understudies to practice their roles, and give the principles a well-earned break.)

I just got an email from the public relations coordinator for the Peoria Civic Center thanking me for coming to see Billy Elliot on Wed eve and informing me that there will be a cast and crew "talk back session" following the performance. What a nice surprise. I will let you know how it goes.

That's great, Joe. I, too, am looking forward to hearing about the Q & A and the show from Peoria.

Oh Peoria... Central IL's finest city... Only went to the Casino there when I was in college at the equally boring twin cities of Champagin-Urbana, IL. There is nothing to do there within a reasonable driving distance...at least BE will keep your evenings busy! :)

Oh Foolish me! - thinking there was nothing to do in Peoria. I am NOT going to try to get a tour of the Post Office instead I have discovered something astounding:

THR PEORIA ASYLUM. (The Illinois Asylum for the Incurable Insane est. 1896)
Housing and treating men, woman and children until 1973.

Tours Daily. It is said to be HAUNTED by the ghosts of the many murdered patients and staff.
WOW.

Is there a special wing for those who have seen BETM an insane number of times? :)

Funny you should ask Liam

There is indeed a special wing. Interestingly enough in the main lobby there is a giant Framed picture of porscherule and right next to it a big RED board listing the names of the ghosts who would be appearing today as well as a list of the exact number of appearances each ghost has made so far this month. Wish I could stay for the evening show but I must go see Noah.
