Exciting! I have always loved the Peter Pan story, the movies Hook and Finding Neverland, and cannot recommend Peter And The Starcatcher (now on Broadway) highly enough. I've never seen the Peter Pan Musical (which this isn't, wrong title perhaps?). I am very excited about another stage show delving into the story, especially based on a great movie. Sounds great!

It has been a long while since I saw the movie but I mostly remember it for its cannibalisation of the real story. For example, Sylvia was not a widow when Barrie first met her. She met Barrie at a party in London. In the weeks before that Barrie had met the (three) boys and their nanny regularly while out walking with his dog in Kensington Gardens. It was only during the party that Sylvia came to realise that Barrie was the man the others were all talking about each day when they got home from the park. There were only three boys at that stage including Peter although there were five altogether in the end. Sylvia's husband disliked Barrie (seemingly, he was jealous of his popularity with his sons) and, eventually, only went along with having him around when he realised he himself was going to die from mouth cancer and knew that Barrie was willing and able to financially support the family.

For anyone interested in the real story the good ol' BBC produced a magnificent three-part classic version of this story in 1978? with the great Ian Holm as Barrie. Entitled "The Lost Boys" and written by the greatest authority on Barrie, Andrew Birkin, it is an oft-harrowing tale but a masterpiece of television production. DVD available.

A book by Mr. Birkin followed which included a lot more than they could fit in the TV series.

Of course, that's not saying the musical won't be great  . I have been to the Curve Theatre in Leicester (to see former Jackie Elliot, James Gaddas, in a Peter Pan Panto) and it is a magnificent theatre.

Thank you, Pat! I didn't know that, but now I want to learn more. Need to go back and re-read the original and watch this. Much appreciated lesson! =)

You're very welcome, Seán. One of the intriguing aspects is that, during his research, Mr. Birkin discovered that the youngest boy, Nico, was still alive and met up with him before the TV series/book was completed.

Trivia Factoid of the Day: Mr Birkin also happens to be the brother of Jane Birkin, the Anglo/French actress and occasional singer/collaborator with Serge Gainsbourg..... those of us of a certain age will remember her one massive hit.....;)

Good luck to the three teams of four boys in the world premiere of Finding Neverland; Harry Polden ('Oliver' on the UK Tour & Love Never Dies UK), Corey Wickendon, Connor Fitzgerald, Worrall Courtney, Edward Bracey, Connor Phillips, Garrett Tennant, Jamieson Hughes, Theo Fewell, Josh Swinney, Harrison Slater and Morgan Heath. The Blue Team kick off the show on September 22nd, I'm really looking forward to this and I will write a review here on the 23rd

Do you have a link to an article that gives the names of these boys as part of the cast list?
