Here's some publicity for the show's arrival in Sao Paulo (not the best translation).

(not the best translation indeed!)
"Ty Forhan, who was appointed to the Los Angeles Broadway World Award in 2012 for her performance in Billy Elliot."

Ty was a "he" last time I saw him.

I am certain that all prudent precautions will be in place in Sao Paulo.

If there is any doubt, BETM should cancel. It's not worth the chance.

My understanding is that they can cancel without penalty only if the State Department advises against it, in which case there should be insurance. The State Department will review the situation, especially as there are minor children involved. Canada, too, for its citizens, and the UK. If they say it is ok, then I have great confidence it will be.

On the other hand, Brasil is well aware that it is in the world's headlights at the moment, with the World Cup AND the Olympics looming. I would expect security will be top notch, though some of the cast may not be able to wander around at will, looking for a Nandos at midnight!

So is anyone else going to Sao Paulo for the final, final weekend besides me? If so do you want to get together?

Max Baud posted this pic on his Instagram of the three Billys on the first full day of rehearsals in Brazil. It's so nice to see Ty again. Looks like Older Billy needs a shave. ;)
