Here is the first review from Tuesday's opening in Schenectady. This reviewer obviously gets the story and loved Drew's performance.

Another great review -- this one from a blog in Albany. The closing sentences of the review say it all:
"So let’s do the math now: Elton John + an amazing story + superb cast = a great night at Proctors! Get there before Billy and crew dance out of the theatre Sunday afternoon."

I agree. But one question:
'and another lad alternates as Michael.'
With Sam's departure, is this simply an inaccurate assumption by the reviewer? Unless I have missed something (which is possible, as I have been traveling on business the past month), the Tour is down to one Michael - the multi-talented Jake.
With just three Billys and just one Michael, the Tour appears to be running on close margins: one Billy on stage each night; one as backup; one as tall boy. One Michael in every performance. Zero time off for the next three weeks.
It would give me sleepless nights, if I were the producer!

I have tonight's performers (which I'm not at liberty to divulge until about 1/2 hour before curtain -- unless a forum member going to the show tonight posts it from the lobby cast board earlier). I can assure you, there are two Michaels -- the other besides Jake is a very familiar face. Again, since the name hasn't been documented anywhere, I cannot post it until show time.

Ah. Methinks I know to whom you refer. Yes, indeed. Indeed!

Another generally positive review -- this one from Metroland, billed as the capital region's alternative weekly -- entitled

A somewhat mixed review - doesn't much like the book, or the music, but raves about the actors.
