At the moment, the ticketing seems to indicate that this will be a very limited run. If that's the case, then they may well have only one Billy, but I would think he would certainly need an understudy, at the very least.

By the way, I take it that by "step," the article means "tap."

Even if it's one week, I can't see how one boy could do that many back-to-back days -- dependent, of course, on how many shows are planned for the week. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Perhaps a couple more Billys will be announced eventually.

It is scheduled to run 3 month. They are selling the first 3 weeks. 5 shows in the premiere week then the following weeks only 4 shows from friday through sunday.
The artikel speaks of 'THE' Billy but I also think there will at least be an understudy. They might not be obliged by law to rotate the Billys. So there's the one flagship-Billy who will carry the main load, doing as many shows as he's able. The Child labour law in Skandinavia is different. Children may work if they want as long as the parents are consent and it's not getting in the way of their education. Here in Denmark I often see family-run franchise shops/supermarkets where 11/14 year olds even sit at the till - nearly every day the same little bugger. :D

In an other article in the same newspaper, the producer states that they need to sell at least 50.000 seats to feel comfortable. In a 1400 seat theatre, that would equal to 36 fully sold out performances.

Note to Norwegian casting director:

You have the perfect candidate for the role of older Billy right there in Norway
He is the only Mexican, Canadian, Cuban, American, Norwegian Ballet Dancer extant
And...he is a genuine ,real life older Billy.

His name is Cesar and you can find him through YAGP .

LOL....
