NBC Announces that Peter Pan Will Be Aired Live in December
Peter Pan will air Dec. 4, with Sound of Music Live exec producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron back at the helm. NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt announced the decision to make Peter Pan its next live musical production at a press conference yesterday.
“Get ready for flying children and state-of-the-art effects,” Greenblatt told the scribes during the executive Q & A session.

There are a lot of ex-Billys out there with excellent flying skills; And, unlike in The Sound of Music, they can act.

I can think of a couple of ex-Billys who would fit the role perfectly. Unfortunately they will probably cast a celebrity once again.
:/

Well, there is one former tour cast member I can think of who is a member of Equity; can act, sing, dance and probably 'Fly' - and has experience acting in a show based on Peter Pan. And he has had very recent Broadway experience, so he will be 'known' to the 'biz'.
They will be daft to give it to an adult female lead with such talent available. The world has moved on from the idea of Larry Hagman's mom suspended from a wire being passed off as a Lost Boy..............
Just as long as they don't pick Carrie Underwood..............

It could be worse. I have seen quite a few speculative comments floating around the net that mention Justin Bieber.

I have also seen a post in the last day or so that he has been advised to go into rehab. Let's see.... Peter Pan or rehab....

I have to admit I can't name a "celebrity" off the top of my head for this role, in the teen age range only Beiber fits singing wise but my brain threatens violent seizures at the very thought. Who else COULD do it that qualifies as a celebrity? Or at least someone in the popularity class of Underwood?CJ-Rochester wrote:accessmenj wrote:There are a lot of ex-Billys out there with excellent flying skills; And, unlike in The Sound of Music, they can act.

Either way they will surround Peter with stars. Just need to find a cocky teen who can stand up acting to them.

i love peter pan, but i do hope its better casting, directing and coregraph then sound of music. I will hate to see a show I love since I was little, get ruin again. I even got to be part of my High School play when we did Peter Pan, I was nana and tinkerbell (off-stage, I was her voice). It was really fun.
