Ruthie Henshall - Mrs. Wilkinson
Re: Ruthie Henshall - Mrs. Wilkinson
Yes, I take every other Tuesday but of course she is yet to add extra days and Holidays.
Will also be interesting to see the alternate and understudy Mrs Wilkinson, as both of the current ones are leaving too! A whole new Mrs W team

Re: Ruthie Henshall - Mrs. Wilkinson
Ruthie had a fantastic debut. Right off the bat she is one of my favorite Mrs. Wilkinsons! She has quite a gravelly voice, deeper than some who have played the role. While she has her own take on some of the lines (they all do), there was no hint of newness about her tonight. The London show is in great hands with Ruthie.
It was delightful to meet her parents during intermission (thanks Rich B for the introduction). They were very sweet. They had never seen BETM at all, and were blown away by the whole show.

Ruthie tweeted this tonight:
"A brilliant night @BillyElliotUK. Fantastic crowd and boy you made this girl feel good! Congratulations to all. 9yrs old and still the tops."

Also on her twitter page is another picture of the birthday cake.

Ruthie, on Radio 2 with Claudia Winkelman last week, talks about why she was so keen to be Mrs W for a year, and the Billys' rigorous schedules and auditions. - amongst other things.
Starts at 6min 45s for about 12 minutes. Will be removed from iplayer on 31st May.

It is a great interview. I like the way she expresses her admiration for the kids, and for the way they are recruited, trained and kept grounded. It really is viewed as a school with a play, not a play with a school, for those kids. Lucky.

She is lovely. It really is a great interview! Thanks for that.
I think it was really funny how she called her agent to ask about the audition sometimes one can just wonder if things like this happen by fortunate coincidence or fate...
