It looks challenging, but the length of the gap between two shows on one day is really immaterial. In some ways, having too long (over two hours) a break is frustrating - one wants to eat as normal, but you cannot as you have another show; you may need to warm up again if you have too much time between performances. I presume the Billys will rotate; but the rest of the cast will have a short break, and will already be warmed up for the second show. They will know what to expect. I am sure they can cope.CJ-Rochester wrote:Did anyone else notice the performance schedule. Saturdays will be quite a killer with only 1/2 hour break between the two shows!kport wrote:This is the most comprehensive announcement so far, and includes the cast's names.

It is clear these directors and production team have the passion needed to tell the BETM story in a fitting manor.

Here is an interesting article, from the Daily Herald:
http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2015 ... 150419885/
'The biggest challenge, said Rockwell, has been readying a production this size in just a few weeks. Recently, they all hit a wall and Rockwell called over Dantes and Halford for a pep talk.'
At least it wasn't a broken arm!
I do have to question this statement:
'As rehearsals conclude and tech week for "Billy Elliot" looms, everyone begins to feel the strain, which is especially acute, since Drury Lane's production marks the show's regional premiere.'
Does regional mean 'the Chicago region'? It was in Chicago for 287 performances in 2010. Or does it mean the BETM's first regional production? That was last year, at The Muny, followed by Ogunquit, La Mirada/Glendale, and then Raleigh..............in the U.S. alone, not counting other countries!
