Chat About BETM Estonia - March 28-April 18 and May 7-9
Re: BETM in Tallin, Estonia
I expect a regional cast recording will face the same royalty/copyright permission restrictions as any other attempt to make or disseminate a recording or broadcast of this musical. My understanding is that the regional license permits a short promotional video (such as the one linked below, made for Ogunquit * ) but not the entire performance. The live show was filmed, in its entirety, at Oqunquit, but the theater is not permitted to show or distribute it.

Here is the trailer! http://youtu.be/wBld_mkLRsM
The boy playing billy looks a lot older than 11/12 and I notice that in the end of the video you can see scenekvelders logo type, does that mean that this production is associated with the Norwegian one?

Re: BETM in Tallin, Estonia
That's where sponsors usually appear, maybe Scenekvelder bequeathes the Estonian production with their sceneryBilly123 wrote:... in the end of the video you can see scenekvelders logo type, does that mean that this production is associated with the Norwegian one?
Re: BETM in Tallin, Estonia
So, I guess the question is this:
If Matthew Bourne's Lord of the Flies can be recreated using post-adolescent characters, then can BETM do the same?

It would open huge possibilities for regional and schools productions that cannot find 11 years olds with the talent necessary for their roles.
I would love to ask Stephen Daldry and Lee Hall for their views on this.
