Re: Santino Fontana
I saw "Hello, Dolly!" this past week. Both Santino and Charlie Stemp are fantastic additions to the show. Santino is totally charming and charismatic as Cornelius. Charlie is hysterical as Barnaby. He has a great flair for comedy! If you get a chance in next few months, do see the show with this cast!

Here's a nice article about Santino and how he came to play Cornelius in "Hello Dolly!" He will be in the show until at least May 6.

TOOTSIE the musical, staring Santino in the Robin Williams role, began performances in Chicago yesterday. Here's an interview with Santino, in which he talks about the difficulty of getting used to women's garments such as a bra and heels.

Here's a review from Variety. This show seems bound for Broadway success.

Re: Santino Fontana
I saw "Tootsie" this past week. Santino is brilliant as Michael/Dorothy. The overall story arc is similar to the movie. Situations have been somewhat modernized, and the setting changed from him being on a TV soap to a new Broadway musical. Most of the beloved plot elements and gag lines from the film are there, although sometimes in different forms. Santino has several quick changes between Michael and Dorothy. Major kudos to the backstage dressers who make these changes look effortless!
It is still in previews and I think some of the scenes could use some work, but most of it is quite a riot. The Act I finale should certainly give the show and Santino some award recognition. I'm hoping this will be a huge it!
