Ugh, wish I hadn't seen this. Now I have another show I want to try and see this fall--although I think a cheap seat ticket for this will still be fine. I loved Santino and also love Joanna Gleason. Like Greg Jbara, Joanna had a role on my favorite TV show of all time, The West Wing. Although Joanna was on more with a recurring part. Greg just had a small walk-on role with a couple of lines one episode.

Love my boy Santino though, so will definitely try to catch this. =)

It's Santino Day!
Glowing review in today's New York TImes for starring role in "Sons of the Prophets:"
http://theater.nytimes.com/2011/10/21/t ... odayspaper

Excerpts:
"The sensitive performance of Santino Fontana, one of the most promising young actors to emerge in the New York theater in recent years ...is the play’s trembling emotional heart."
"Best of all is Mr. Fontana’s dazed but ever-functioning Joseph..."

As is typical for the Times, there is no mention of his excellent work in the original cast of the 2009 Tony-Awarded Best Musical Billy Elliot.

:D I am a big fan of his and loved his "Tony". He was so sweet and appreciative at Stage Door too! Thanks for sharing this RAVE review from The Times! What nice things he said about Santino and the play! Sounds like a must see and once I go (I "Liked" Roundabout's Facebook page so that I wouldn't forget), I'll be sure to post my positive review to Santino's thread here.

Thanks Phoebe,
Sean

Santino will be performing as part of "Musicals in Mufti: The Tom Jones Festival, " produced by the York Theater Company.
This unprecedented Jonesapalooza features Jones' adaptation of the cult film Harold and Maude (music by Joseph Thalken) April 13-15 with Cass Morgan; his adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's The Anatol Plays, which Jones titled The Game of Love (music by Jacques Offenbach and Nancy Ford) May 11-13 with Santino Fontana; plus Schmidt's Colette Collage April 27-29 with Christine Andreas; and Roadside March 30-April 1. The series launched with the revue The Show Goes On March 16-18, at which time Jones appeared on stage with Susan Watson, the Girl in original 1959 The Fantasticks one-act version at Hunter College, plus the original Kim in Bye Bye Birdie.
