Just finished Alex's book. This was easily one of the best autobiographies I have ever read (and I've read a lot of them). WOW!!! Seriously, this is an absolute MUST READ!!!

Alex will be joining the kids at Camp Broadway on Thursday at 3:30 PM EST to chat about his new book "From Iowa to Broadway, My Billy Elliot Story!" What a great opportunity for these kids to hear about such a great example of one who made it -- fulfilled his dream -- and what it takes to get there.

Alex returned to his home town today for a short talk and booksigning session at the Prairie Lights bookstore in Iowa City, IA.

After a brief introduction, he read a couple of passages from his book, one about finally being told that he had the part at his first rehearsal session (he thought it was another audition!), and then about taking the stage as Billy for the last time. Following that was a 45 minute long question and answer session with the assembled crowd of about 50, then he started signing books and autographs.

A few of the questioners identified themselves as people Alex had known in the past (such as school teachers), others had an obvious interest in dance (such as three or four young ladies still in their dance class clothes), and the rest appeared to be general public and BETM fans.
