According to a post by max in this thread http://www.billyelliottheforum.me.uk/fo ... 35#p108635 , the boys that we took to be Billys, based on a link given earlier, may not actually be Billys, but only boys auditioning for the role. As more information becomes clear, we will make corrections as necessary.

It says on the page of the theatre they found "a very talented 14 year old Italian to play the part".

Good morning, the site is almost ready!

Posters for the show are up in Rome. I was in Rome on the fourth and fifth of April and found one of these:

It says 'nessun risultato' perhaps they changed their site structure but just click on 'home' or 'cast'.
Anyway there's no Debbie, Ballet team nor Small Boy. Tallboy is listed as Kevin (the Scab's son) who is also Billy no 2 or say understudy.

According to this site as well, Claudia Mangini is 'la piccola Debbie' (tr. 'the little Debbie')

http://www.2duerighe.com/i-due-oboli-te ... stina.html

On the official cast site, http://www.billyelliot.it/cast/, Claudia's bio states that was born in 1993, which makes her 22 or so. Now, I know that regional productions may take liberties with the story, and Europeans may be more socially liberal, but just how will they manage the 'f*nny' or 'hoo-hoo' question (as well as the teen tensions) if she is 22 and he is 11, or 13?

I wonder if they asked Giuseppe Bausilio. The age difference would not have been so obvious then. He's not 22 but I guess he must be quite tall by now. 8-)

For the Ballet Team, if you look in the last row of the "locandina" page in billyelliot.it is announced that is formed by the group "children tappers" directed by Graziella Di Marco.

Debbie: this is very strange. How can a woman of 22 years play the role of Debbie is a mistery. When i'll go to see the show, we'll know... ( and i sure you that in Italy we are not more socially liberal    )
