The North Shore Music Theater, a professional theater in Beverly, MA, has announced that BILLY ELLIOT will be part of its 2015 season. Sept. 29 --Oct. 11, 2015.

Well, THAT made my day!

It may be the first time BETM is performed in a theatre-in-the-round. It should certainly be novel.

When I read this, and know that BETM will be produced - regionally - at this venue in 2015, I am quite happy.....................

Of course that article had to be published after the final performance in the run at the NSMT. Les Mis was also the first musical I ever saw. I then spent years searching for a musical as good as that, a search that ended when I saw Billy Elliot. So it would have been a real nice accomplishment to have that sequence within a year at that venue. Ah well.

Auditions have been announced.

Only an hour and a half from where I live now. Just got front row seats for two shows on Wed Oct 7. Can't wait to see what the staging will be like in a theatre in the ROUND . I have seen a number of productions of musicals in this type of theatre and it is interesting to see how they move (rotate) everyone around so that they face the audience in each section as often as possible. If Billy fly's it will be like the circus.
