GREASE: LIVE on FOX

It looks like FOX is getting into the live broadcast game as well, with an announcement of GREASE to be aired in January 2016.

I've never been a fan of Grease, personally. No doubt however that this will be a big production with a lot of word-of-mouth. Wonder if John Travolta or Olivia Newton-John will have any involvement.

I am no fan of the show either. I worked on a production of it many years ago. When I heard this announcement my first thought was that GREASE is rather vulgar and not the type of "family friendly" show that TV networks show during prime time. However, after realizing how TV programming has evolved over the years (especially on Fox), I think this will fit right in.

Aaron Tveit has been cast as leading man Danny Zuko, with Julianne Hough as Sandy, Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie, and Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo.
