Does anyone know what the type of dress is called that Michael wears during expressing yourself?

Hopefully, no one ever made a dress like that! It's mank!

Here is a total guess:

My guess is that such a dress could, historically anyway, have come from the Ladybird range at the local Woolworths. It also could be mail ordered from a Woollies catalog. I believe patterns could be bought by mail as well, to make such items at home, from bolts of material found locally.

The material would have been a poly/cotton blend, or all poly. Maybe cotton, if that was to hand. (Does anyone else remember nylon shirts? ) Or even old curtains, if my memories from The Sound of Music are accurate....................!
