Oliver and Carl are the scheduled Billy/Michael combination when I visit Malmo. Any idea if Copenhagen/Malmo accept both Danish/Swedish currencies in view of the regular flow of commuters between the two cities ? Presumably debit cards (contactless ?) are in common use ? I'm looking forward to visiting the Opera House and walking around Malmo for a few days.

Here's a sneak peek of the Dreamballet scenery taken whilst flying rehearsals.
Looks like a full sized volleyball pitch.
I wonder if that is Michael's room at the upper right. I hope that is not a fixed installation. A bit distant if they play a scene in there. (The danish production had house and rooms rolling in to the front but it seemed a little like doll's house though.) I'd prefer to watch all action on stage with the whereabouts beeing adumbrated by scenery tiles.

In some shops or restaurants they accept foreign cash but I wouldn't rely on it. If so, only notes, you'd get the change in local coins. The majority pays with the respective debitcards that work as creditcards abroad. There is contactless payement available but not shure if only available for cards issued by a local bank. But they accept widely master visa maestro etc. Some small shops may only accept national debit cards like 'Dankort' in Denmark.

To get around in Malmö with the public transport you'll be required to buy either tickets for the train or within the city of Malmö you can use a 'jojo' card issued at the Skånetrafiken offices like one at the main station 'Malmö Centralen'. That 'jojo ))' card is the only accepted payement methode on buses. A one hour ride is about 25 SEK = 2£. When purchasing the card there's 200 SEK on it, you can topup at all trainstations and some busstops.

If you intend to commute between Malmö and Copenhagen, the most convenient ticket is a 5-return ride paper card available in Denmark (750 DKK) that is valid for each of the 5 clips to get to Malmö and back within 48 hours (train only). The swedish ticket machines sell only single rides and you must specify the train departure time. There are swedish machines at Copenhagen Central and Airport. But no danish machines in Sweden.
There's also a bus that is serving between Malmö and Copenhagen Airport/Mainstation at the cost of 100 kr for a return ride.( Only DKK/SEK cash at the driver only NO booking or presale) The fare used to be 80 DKK / 100 SEK - now it's cheaper from Malmö. http://www.graahundbus.dk/9-plan.htm
The Bus runs on the upper deck of the Øresundbridge - better view (trains are way faster though) There's no bus service on sundays.
Or you could go on a round trip: train to Helsingborg, ferry to Helsingør, train via Copenhagen and Bridge back to Malmö. In Helsingborg there's the old tower residence of the danish king (I first thought it was a gaol  ), over in Helsingør the Kronborg Castle , Luisiana Museum in Humlebæk....or you just relax in one of the cafés and restaurants in the beautiful old town quarter of Malmö 8-)

Thanks a lot for your information, tips and suggestions. I’ve been to Copenhagen previously (some years ago), so will probably spend most of my time - a long weekend - in Malmo . I’ve done some research on the internet and have selected a watering hole - the Bishops Arms on Norra Vallgatan, across from Central Station. I suspect it might be more expensive than the Rose & Crown !

Does anyone have definitive dates for when the show will open in Stockholm after finishing in Malmö ?

A presentation day for the local candidates in 'Intiman'. I wonder if they talk about the Intiman in Stockholm or the Intiman in Malmö which is wall to wall with the Malmö Opera.

I was bored today, would've liked to go and see it, if that was open for the public. :|
