Happy to hear this, although Maine in December doesn't sound too inviting.

Unless you're a skier ;)

Seriously though Chris, where's your sense of adventure :)

Well I guess Maine in December is better than Winnipeg in January. ;)

Have you noticed that I have remained silent about Rochester?

Seriously, Maine is still temperate until Christmas .... then 'all eskimo' breaks out. You can have days ranging from around freezing to 50 F - more or less like London at that time of the year. And the kicker is that all the towns are having their Christmas festivities - my town's (Kennebunkport) is quite popular. Everyone wants a lobster Christmas tree decoration, don't they?

I never thought of either BETM or BETF(film) as being summery. It is neither summer, nor winter. Sort of, as C. S Lewis said: 'This nothing'.

The Portland Players have announced the 2016/17 Season. The dates originally scheduled for BETM (Dec 2 - 17) have been filled with The Little Mermaid. I have tried to contact the theatre, without success, and will continue to try to find out what has happened. If cancelled, it will be the second New England show to do this (Cotuit being the other).

Although this theatre will not host BETM this year (but who knows about next year), it hosts The Big Maine Event every summer. Why should this Forum care? Well, the man behind it is Thommie Retter. Half the kids are from Broadway, and half are local. They meet, bond, rehearse and put on a 5 hour performance here, amid lobster, the rocky Maine coast. and fun. Here is one number from Saturday's show: Oscar Williams (Walden), from Broadway's Fun Home, performing Hamilton's 'You'll Be Back'.

Jamie Mann, Shane Boucher and Trent Kowalik were there as well. Trent's mother accompanied every number on piano. There we also a lot of BETM fans there!
