A new scholarship worth almost £25,000 has been launched for exceptionally talented young performers across the North East to prepare them for a career in the performing arts.
The Lee Proud Scholarship – named after top international (and totally Geordie) choreographer, who spent four years working on the West End smash hit, Billy Elliot: The Musical - will give one young hopeful each year the chance to train full time on a three-year course at D&B Academy of Performing Arts in London – one of the top 20 colleges of it kind in the country.
