A new scholarship worth almost £25,000 has been launched for exceptionally talented young performers across the North East to prepare them for a career in the performing arts.

The Lee Proud Scholarship – named after top international (and totally Geordie) choreographer, who spent four years working on the West End smash hit, Billy Elliot: The Musical - will give one young hopeful each year the chance to train full time on a three-year course at D&B Academy of Performing Arts in London – one of the top 20 colleges of it kind in the country.

What a marvelous thing that is!

If anyone can find the place potential applicants would go to apply to be considered for the scholarship, I hope that there are other people in this forum who would be glad to spread the word.
