Our Ladies: The show was the toast of the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Manuel Harlan
The producer of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has turned to a “dark” musical tale of teenage excess in the search for her next West End hit.

Sonia Friedman is bringing Our Ladies Of Perpetual Succour, about a group of smalltown Scottish schoolgirls on a disastrous night out in Edinburgh, to the Duke of York’s Theatre in May.

The story of a six-strong girls’ choir, by Billy Elliot writer Lee Hall, was a critical hit at the National Theatre last year.

Ms Friedman said the show, which deals with teenage pregnancy and serious illness and mixes music by ELO with Handel, was “a cathartic experience” for audiences.
