I enjoyed the local production of Billy Elliot the Musical so much that I wanted to poll the members as to their favorite presentation. Next year (2018) is going to be a relatively quite year for these presentations, so maybe we could encourage more activity with this poll.

Where do the Chicago & Toronto productions fit into the ballot?

I voted for a professional regional production - Cape Cod.

The Chicago & Toronto productions were the First Broadway Tour. They were spectacular presentations with some of the best Billys.

Chicago & Toronto were the first tour. The second tour (including tour 2.5) was all the other cities visited by a national tour.

I was going to vote for the Broadway production, but The Road Company in Williamstown had a spectacular Billy in Liam and the intimacy of the 250 seat Grand Theater won the day.
By the way, why hasn’t anyone voted for the great Broadway Production?

I loved the Broadway production, but I first saw BETM in London, and that show remained my favorite.

I loved them all, but if pressed I would have to choose Ogunquit's. It was the first regional, and the first to try to re-imagine the Broadway version, minus the Broadway restraints. It had the talent of Broadway and the US tour behind it, but it was granted a freedom to take the story and make it fly. And the setting was intimate, taking the audience with it........Nothing has been as exhilarating as that production, for me at least. It was a unique moment in BETM history, IMHO.

Well, I voted for the second North American tour, I really liked Ogunquit, saw it twice, but Noah was Billy both times and I saw Noah in Boston as well and it was probably my favorite of all the regular productions I have seen. I thought every single Billy in the tour was extra good, and I saw them all. The first time I saw BETM was in Phoenix with Daniel Russel. I liked the tour because you got a different Billy and Michael each time and you never knew who it would be until you arrived at the theater. Every show I went to was a full house, I used to plan my business trips around BETM locations, it was great fun,( but my co-workers think I am crazy).
Of course, for professional perfection the London presentation was best, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was my "favorite"
I loved the final Broadway show where all of the Billys performed. Since I missed the final London show, that would rate as the best special show I have seen.
